We use real player data and simulated plays to estimate today's difficulty. It may change as more people play.

DailyGaps (dailygaps.com) is a browser-based card game operated by Ben Hasselgren (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can contact us at contact@dailygaps.com. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
If you play without signing in: we do not collect any personal data. Your preferences and game progress are stored only in your browser (see “Cookies & local storage” below), and anonymous gameplay statistics may be sent as described under “Analytics”.
If you sign in with Google or Apple (optional — it saves your stats and streak across devices): we receive your name, email address and a Google/Apple account identifier via Firebase Authentication. We create an account that stores your display name, email and your game history (dates played, moves, times, scores, results and streaks). If you use Apple’s Hide My Email, the email we receive and store is your private Apple relay address. The legal bases are your consent (when you choose to sign in) and performance of the service you ask for (saving and showing your progress).
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page-view trends. This service is privacy-first: it does not use cookies, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not track users across sites.
When a game is completed, anonymous gameplay statistics (result, number of moves, time taken, difficulty) are recorded to understand how the game is played and to show difficulty estimates. This data is not used to identify you; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the game.
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, appropriate safeguards apply. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
If you have an account, we keep your account and game history until you delete your account. You can delete it at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account: this permanently erases your account, identity and game history from our database and deletes your authentication record. Anonymous, non-identifiable statistics may be retained.
This game uses third-party card artwork under open-source licences:
This game uses third-party sound effects from Freesound. All sounds have been modified (trimmed, edited) from the originals:
Under UK/EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can erase your data directly via Settings → Delete account, or email contact@dailygaps.com for any request.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We store your preferences and game progress in your browser's local storage, and — if you sign in — Firebase keeps your sign-in session in your browser's storage so you stay signed in. This functional data stays on your device; you can clear it via your browser settings, or by signing out or deleting your account.
DailyGaps is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above will change accordingly.

Hi, I'm Ben. Gaps (also known as Montana) is a card game my grandmothers played — passed down through the Spanish side of my family (who played without 8s, 9s and 10s). One of my grandmothers played it daily and always said that getting out by go 3 meant a lucky day ahead!
I wanted to bring it online so anyone can enjoy it. I hope it becomes a fun little puzzle to start your day with.
If you have any feedback or just want to say hello, feel free to get in touch at contact@dailygaps.com.
